We are simply the Lord’s church. North Fort Bend is a non-denominational Christian fellowship for people to gather together to worship, serve and honor God. Everyone is welcome!
We envision God using us to build a thriving community of believers who are actively and intentionally connecting their friends, family, and neighbors to Jesus.
Our mission is to connect with the people of our community for the purpose of connecting them to Jesus.
Every visitor is our honored guest.
Our services are structured to draw everyone closer to God and to provide an atmosphere that will allow all to worship God according to His will. (John 4:24)
Since all we do is governed by the word of God, you will find us observing only those things contained in it. We shall do our best to duplicate and pattern everything we do after the early church of the New Testament.
We sing “a cappella” (without musical instruments) because our study of scripture has led us to believe that this is the way we can best honor and worship God. (Colossians 3:16; Ephesians 5:19; Hebrews 13:15)
The Lord’s Supper, or communion, is observed as it was instituted by Jesus. We do this every Sunday to remember the death, burial, and resurrection of our Savior. (Luke 22:17-20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26; Acts 20:7)
The prayers you will hear will praise God, thank Him for His blessings and voice our requests. (1 Corinthians 14:15a; 1 Thessalonians 5:17; Matthew 6:9-13)
We take an offering each week as an act of worship and to support the ministries of the church. Guests are free to participate but are never obligated to do so. (1 Corinthians 16:2)
A sermon is offered on Sundays. These sermons focus on a specific topic of study or on a passage(s) of scripture. You are encouraged to read along in the Bible as the lesson is presented. We hope you will be benefited by the message.
We value the Bible as the living Word of God and the final authority in all matters pertaining to faith and doctrine. We also acknowledge Jesus Christ as: The Son of God, the Head of the Church, and our Lord having all authority over our lives and salvation.
2 Timothy 3:16-17, Hebrews 4:12-13
We value the sacrifice Jesus made on the cross and respond to that by Loving God and His people with the same commitment. John 13:34-35, Matthew 22:37-40, Ephesians 5:1-2
We believe that every person in the Body of Christ is blessed with talents from God to be used in service to God, His people, and reaching the world. Rom. 12:1-9; Eph. 4:11-16, 1Pet. 4:10, Mark 10:43-45, John 14:13-17
We value every lost soul and we will intentionally seek opportunities to lead them to Christ, locally and abroad.
1 Timothy 2:4; Matthew 28:18-20
We value the relationships of all our brothers and sisters in Christ and we believe that operating as a family of believers, who are involved in each other’s lives, is vital to our success in growing spiritually and numerically as a Church body.
Acts 2:42-47
We value the life changing power of the gospel and the transforming power of the Holy Spirit. We believe in the necessity of personal discipleship and that all Christians should be growing continually in their Christian walk.
Rom. 12:1-2, Eph. 4:11-16
We affirm these core beliefs as children of God and followers of Jesus Christ:
God is the creator of the universe and every living creature. He has eternally existed in three personalities: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one. God desires and requires worship and lifelong service.
(Genesis 1:1, 26-27; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; Philippians 2:5-11; Colossians 1:15-20; John 4:23-24)
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. Jesus rose from the dead, ascended into Heaven and will come one day to take His followers to be with Him for eternity.
(1 Corinthians 15:1-4; John 1:1-34; Luke 1-2, 22-24; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-5:11)
The Holy Spirit, as promised by Jesus, lives in every Christian as a guide and comforter for daily living in accordance with God’s will.
(John 14:15-30; John 16:5-16; Acts 2:38-39; Romans 8:1-17)
The Bible is the word of God, handed down to us by writers inspired by the Holy Spirit. It is our only authority for faith and life.
(2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Psalm 119:105)
People are made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all of us are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called “sin”. This attitude separates us from God, placing us in need of a Savior – Jesus Christ.
(Genesis 1:27; Isaiah 53:6; Isaiah 59:1-2; Romans 3:23; Romans 6:23)
The Bible teaches that salvation and the forgiveness of sin is a free gift to all who accept it. A person receives God's grace by putting faith in Christ, turning away from a life of sin, confessing Christ publicly, and being immersed into Christ.
(John 3:16; Colossians 2:9-12; Galatians 3:26-27; 1 Peter 3:18-22; Romans 10:9)
Heaven and Hell are both real. We will either exist eternally with God in Heaven by doing His will, or we will be eternally separated from God in Hell by refusing to obey Him.
(Matthew 10:28; Matthew 7:21; 1 John 5:11-13; John 14:2; Revelation 20:15)
